Okotoks, AB (February 13, 2026) – The Okotoks Oilers couldn’t stop the Salmon Arm Silverbacks offensive onslaught tonight at Viking Rentals Centre (VRC) as they fell 7-1 to start the weekend.
While the Oilers couldn’t pick up the win tonight, they have two more chances in the next three days as they host the Sherwood Park Crusaders, who have struggled as of late, tomorrow night, and then head to Brooks on Monday to complete their three games in four nights.
Matthew Hikida (Richmond, BC) and Sam Esposito (Westfield, NJ) made their debuts for the Okotoks Oilers tonight. Justin Giguère (Saguenay, QC) made the start in net for the Green and Gold, while Mikkel Christensen was between the pipes for the Salmon Arm Silvebacks.

The first period saw the Silverbacks take a 2-0 lead with Brady Logue and Koen Senft collecting goals for Salmon Arm. The Silverbacks would add another two goals in the second period, with Jack Toogood and Brady Craik getting on the scoresheet to go up 4-0.
Nate Porter (Hingham, MA) gave the Oilers life before the end of the second, after tipping Joey Gugino’s (Buffalo, NY) past Christensen. With the assist, Gugino now has 15 helpers on the season.
Salmon Arm would strike back another three times in the third period with Anthony Cardilli, Luke Lepper, and Wyatt Dreger getting goals as seven different Silverbacks picked up goals.
The Oilers will put tonight’s game in the rearview mirror as they get set to face the Crusaders tomorrow night at the VRC.
