Okotoks, AB (February 5, 2026) – The Okotoks Oilers have announced the signing of 2006-born forward Cayden Joramo (Highlands Ranch, CO), who joins the BCHL after spending 22 games in the NAHL during the 2025-2026 season.

Joramo comes from the New Mexico Ice Wolves, where he would pot four goals and three assists for seven points in his first season in the NAHL. In the two seasons prior, Joramo was a force for the 18U AAA Colorado Rampage as he finished with over a point per game last season, posting 45 points (26G, 19A) last season in the 18U AAA league, 10 points (5G, 5A) in eight games in the T1EHL 18U league, and 14 points (10G, 4A) in 12 games in the THF 18U league.

“Coach Tyler (Deis) and Coach Derek (Purfield) both reached back out to me. They were like, ‘We would love to have you, we think you would be a good part for this season and next.’ So definitely the right call was for me to come here,” Joramo said about his journey to Okotoks.

This weekend will mark the first time Joramo has suited up for a team based in Canada. He explained he’s excited for the opportunity and that Colorado isn’t too far off from the culture of Okotoks and the surrounding area.

“It’s different for sure, not too far off though. I know a couple of people who said Calgary is the sister city of Denver. People have been telling me that, so I mean, it’ts not too far off. But, from where I was (Albuquerque, New Mexico), it’s extremely different, but it’s awesome. It seems like an amazing hometown of people here, and people to come play sports,” he added.

When asked about what he brings in terms of his style of play, Joramo responded with “I’m a big physical player, I don’t necessarily have the stature for it, but I play like it. I’d say hardworking, and I’m definitely a big presence in front of the net. I’m definitely somebody who really takes pride in the hard work and work ethic,” Joramo explained.

Joramo said he’s very excited to put on the Green and Gold uniform and showcase to the Green Army what he’s capable of. He added that the BCHL is a league he wants to play in, as he feels it’s a step up from the NAHL. His previous coaches played in the BCHL and gave a glowing review of the league, which also helped his decision in making the jump to Canada.

“It’s the experience for me too, living outin Canada, further away from home is definitely something I love,” he added.

Gabe Simpson (Lafayette, CO) comes from the same state as Joramo, and both have already started to bond over their home state.

“He’s been very welcoming, very talkative with me, helping me get introduced to people. I didn’t know him necessarily too much in Colorado, but he’s been very welcoming, and it’s definitely helped me integrate a bit faster,” Joramo said about Simpson.

Joramo is expected to make his debut for the Green and Gold on Friday night at Viking Rentals Centre against the Brooks Bandits.
