Okotoks, AB (September 18, 2026) – The Okotoks Oilers have officially announced their leadership group for the 2026-2027 BCHL season.
Earning the honours of captain is Jamie Hikida (Richmond, BC) after two full seasons of pure heart and dedication, leading by example both on and off the ice while representing the Green and Gold. Hikida has totaled 106 games with the Oilers while producing 52 points (29G, 23A) and is always a danger to opposing teams if left alone on the goaltender, as he knows how to put the puck in the back of the net if given a breakaway opportunity. Hikida doesn’t stand down for any competition, no matter the size, and will showcase to the team what it means to be an Oiler.
Joining him as an alternate captain is second-year Oiler Jordan Murray (Decker, MB), who proves to be a quarterback in the back end of the ice while using his smooth skating skills to move the puck out of the zone and into the offensive territory of opposing teams. Murray dazzled fans last season with his 27 points (8G, 19A) in 39 games, including posting three goals in a four-game span. This will mark Murray’s fourth season in the BCHL, as he was acquired from Cranbrook last season and brings valuable knowledge to the leadership group.
Nolan DuPont (Calgary, AB) was also named an alternate captain after proving his leadership throughout camp and the preseason, while also bringing previous experience in the BCHL with a full season in Coquitlam, as he posted 36 points (12G, 24A) in 53 games with the Express. DuPont also logged time with the Blackfalds Bulldogs during the 2023-2024 season for his first taste of the BCHL. DuPont, who is a 2006-born forward, will be leaned on this season to help lead the Oilers back to the playoffs.
Conner Radke, who is another veteran player added to the roster this season, earned the alternate captaincy honour by showcasing his skill and leadership during the three-day camp and preseason. It’s not hard to see how hard Radke works just by looking at his face at the end of preseason, as he has come away with a few cuts but still shows up ready to go while playing a smart game of hockey. Radke put up impressive numbers with the Calgary Canucks last season and logged a ton of games with the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL before joining the Green and Gold this season.
The new leaders will have their first game with their new letters on their jerseys tomorrow in Brooks as the Oilers open up the 2026-2027 BCHL season at 7:00 p.m. MST.
