Okotoks, AB (June 2, 2026) – The Okotoks Oilers have made a move with the Coquitlam Express, which has 2006-born forward Nolan DuPont (Calgary, AB), joining the Green and Gold for the 2026-2027 BCHL season.
The trade completes the transaction that came on February 4, 2026, which sent 2006-born forward Brady Engelkes (Middleton, WI) to the Express for Future Considerations.
Oilers Head Coach and GM, Tyler Deis, is excited to add DuPont to the roster as the team looks to get itself back into the post-season.
“We are really excited to add Nolan to our group heading into the upcoming season. He got some experience in the playoffs last season and will be a good addition to our group here,” Deis said.

DuPont appeared in 53 regular-season games for the Express, accumulating 36 points (12G, 24A) during the regular season and picking up an assist in five playoff games last campaign.
Hockey runs deep in the DuPont blood as his dad, Micki, played 18 games for the Calgary Flames, while also hitting the ice with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the St. Louis Blues. DuPont’s brother, Landon, was just at the Memorial Cup Finals and is a projected top pick for the 2027 NHL Draft.
DuPont, before making his way to Coquitlam, spent time with both the Spruce Grove Saints and the Blackfalds Bulldogs. As for his minor hockey, DuPont helped grow his game at the prestigious Edge hockey school, posting 20 points (4G, 16A) in 31 games with the U18 team in 2022-2023. During his U16 and U15 years, DuPont would finish above a point per game with 30 points (14G, 16A) in 22 games during the 2021-2022 season, and 42 points (15G, 27A) in 30 games during the 2019-2020 season.
“Nolan is going to be a big piece for us this season. We have some expectations here that we want to meet. Bringing in Nolan with his experience and skill set is going to help us get to where we want to be,” Deis added.
The Green Army should keep their eyes peeled as more announcements will be on the way throughout the offseason, including the 2026-2027 BCHL schedule.
