Okotoks, AB (November 2, 2026) – The Okotoks Oilers are aware that a former employee of our organization was arrested today and is facing charges involving minors. Our thoughts are first and foremost with the individuals and families who have been impacted. We recognize the seriousness of these allegations and the importance of making sure any victims are heard.
The Okotoks Oilers were not aware of these allegations while this individual was with our organization. After his departure, we received information that, while unverified at the time, raised enough concern that we felt it needed a closer look. We reviewed it carefully and passed it to the RCMP.
We want to thank the RCMP for taking this information seriously and for their work on this investigation. We are cooperating fully and will continue to support them in any way we can.
The safety, protection and well-being of our players has always been, and will continue to be, our highest priority. Because this is an active police matter, we are unable to comment further on the investigation or the charges.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the RCMP directly.
Thanks,
Brent Lauinger
Chairman and Governor
