Okotoks, AB (November 14, 2025) – The Okotoks Oilers have announced the addition of 2006-born American defenceman, Kash Crawford (Atlanta, GA), to the Green and Gold’s 2025-2026 BCHL roster.

Crawford started the year with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL, appearing in 14 games before making his decision to join the Oilers. He took a long drive from Nebraska to get to Okotoks, but enjoyed the ride as he was on his way to meet his new teammates.

“It was very scenic,” Crawford said about his long road trip. “Usually I’m not one to comment on the things around me, but it was something to see. I’ve never been on this side of the country or this side of the world, so it was different.”

Crawford added that he thought it was going to be a lot cooler, but also mentioned he knows the temperatures will get chillier as the season continues.

The newly acquired defenceman explained that Oilers assistant coach and director of player development reached out to Crawford, which led him to make the journey to Okotoks.

“Basically, I was trying to find somewhere to go after Tri-City, and Corban had called me. We had a great conversation and then him and I talked some more. Then me and my agent, me and my family got together and we thought this was the best place for me,” he said about how he joined the Oilers.

Last season, Crawford split time in the NAHL and USHL with the Omaha Lancers and the North Iowa Bulls. He explained that he’s excited to play in the BCHL and feels like it’s a league that will be able to showcase his skills.

“I think it’s more my league. I feel like I can develop better here. I feel like it will be more fun, and I can not only have fun but, get better at the same time,” Crawford mentioned.

As for what Crawford brings the the Oilers, he explained his game as “Fast, skating is probably my biggest ability, my skating ability. My vision, I love my footwork. I would say a two-way defenceman overall.”

Crawford said he’s excited to meet the Green Army and play in front of Okotoks this season.

You can see the Oilers and Crawford host the Coquitlam Express for the first time in franchise history at their next home game on November. 28, tickets are available at: https://tickets.okotoksoilers.com/events/37868-coquitlam-express-vs-okotoks-oilers
