Okotoks, AB (October 31, 2025) – The Okotoks Oilers head home after coming up on the wrong side of a 7-3 hockey game against the Crusaders in Sherwood Park tonight.
The positive for the Green and Gold is that they won’t have to think about the game too long as they play the Blackfalds Bulldogs tomorrow at Viking Rentals Centre.
Oilers assistant captain, Hunter Sawka (Cochrane, AB), extended his point streak to six games after collecting two assists, which gives him eight points (3G, 5A) in that time span.
Eric Young (Mill Bay, BC) got the nod to start in net for the Oilers, making 33 saves in the contest. Jack Scali got the call for the Crusaders on the opposite side of the ice.

The Crusaders took a 3-0 lead early in the first period, getting two goals from Erik Klad and another one from Quincy Supprien before three minutes had passed in the first period. Stevie Grumley made it 4-0 in the second period.
The Oilers would cut the Crusaders’ lead in half with two quick goals from Michael Mikan (Edina, MN) and Josh Wiebe (Calgary, AB), finding the back of the net in a span of 50 seconds. Sawka and captain Brett Wilson (Calgary, AB) picked up the assists on Mikan’s goal, with Joey Meredith collecting the helper on Wiebe’s marker. Maxime Ly added a goal of his own for the Crusaders before the second period came to a close.

Sherwood Park added another two goals in the third period, with Braeden O’Keefe and Cooper Sharp finding the back of the net.
Markus Jakobsen (Odense, Denmark) would add his second of the season before the final horn went off. Both Sawka and Wilson collected their second assists of the game on Jakobsen’s power play tally.
The Oilers will host the Bulldogs tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. MST for the third meeting between the two teams so far during the 2025-2026 BCHL season.
