Okotoks, AB (January 25, 2026) – The Okotoks Oilers look to continue their momentum from Friday night against Spruce Grove into their tilt tonight against the Bandits in Brooks as they start their four-game road trip during the 2025-2026 BCHL season.
A key area of success in the game against the Saints was getting the penalty minutes down from their last game against Brooks which they headed to the sin bin a total of seven times. On Friday, they limited the Saints’ power play to four opportunities, but still feel they need to get the number down more, especially against Brooks, who is 33.07 per cent on the season when they have the extra attacker and is even more dangerous on the man advantage at home with a 40.63 per cent success rate.
Former Bandit, Josh Wiebe (Calgary, AB), has been on fire as of late, posting five points (2G, 3A) in the last four games, including a three-point (2G, 1A) night on Friday, including the game-winning goal. Captain Brett Wilson (Calgary, AB) continues to produce on the scoresheet for the Green and Gold with his six points (2G, 4A) in the last five games. Assistant captain Hunter Sawka (Cochrane, AB) has also found his groove as he has accumulated four points (1G, 3A) in the last two games.

Another player to watch tonight is Brady Engelkes (Middleton, WI). Since coming back from the BCHL holiday break, Wisconsin’s own has posted six points (3G, 3A) in five games, including two assists against the Saints on Friday.
Eric Young (Mill Bay, BC) is expected to make the start tonight after collecting his 13th win of the season on Friday night. Young has been the backbone for the Green and Gold all season long and held them in the game on Friday after a late onslaught of shots by the Saints, who were desperate to get back into the game.
Todays game will be an early start as both teams will lineup for puck drop at 4:00 p.m. MST in Brooks.
