Okotoks, AB (November 22, 2025) – The Okotoks Oilers look to repeat their success against the Smoke Eaters tonight in Trail as they finish off the weekend BC road trip.
The last time the Oilers and Smoke Eaters met two weekends ago, Okotoks put up a dominant performance at Viking Rentals Centre with an 8-3 win in front of the Green Army. Captain Brett Wilson (Calgary, AB) led the troops with a four-point night, including his first-ever BCHL hat trick. Josh Wiebe (Calgary, AB) was also a standout as he was able to score against his former team in Trail. The Oilers’ win would also mark the first time Trail had lost on the road.
The Oilers enter tonight with a 6-3 win against the Cranbrook Bucks, along with a 3-0 win last Saturday over the Spruce Grove Saints, which both came on the road. The Oilers currently hold a 5-4-0 record away from Viking Rentals Centre. The Smoke Eaters, however, are coming in with a loss to the Brooks Bandits last night and have not been able to figure things out on home ice, as they are 3-3-0 at home and 11-2-0 on the road.

Eric Young (Mill Bay, BC) is expected to make his third straight start for the Oilers. Young has only allowed three goals in his past two starts, including a shutout against the Saints. He would make 47 combined saves in his last two starts.
The Oilers currently sit three points behind the Saints for the fourth spot in the Interior East Division and six points behind the Brook Bandits, who sit in second. The Green and Gold hold a game in hand over the Bandits, Crusaders, and Saints, who all sit ahead of the Oilers in the division.
Game time is set for 8:00 p.m. MST in Trail.
The Okotoks Oilers are a not-for-profit, community-run junior hockey franchise competing in the BCHL and operating out of Viking Rentals Centre. For more information, visit okotoksoilers.com or follow the Oilers on X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram.
