Okotoks, AB (January 10, 2025) – The Okotoks Oilers and their Interior East Division rivals, the Sherwood Park Crusaders, are set to meet for the fourth time this season as the Green and Gold are closing out their three-game road trip to start 2026.

The Oilers hosted the Crusaders to open up the 2025-2026 BCHL season, but have had to face the Crusaders in Sherwood Park for the past three meetings. The Oilers have yet to solve the Crusaders this season, but only fell by a single goal last time the two met on December 12, 2025, as Sherwood Park took it 5-4.

Coming into tonight, captain Brett Wilson (Calgary, AB) leads the team with 29 points (10G, 19A), as well as posting three points in the last two games. Wilson’s linemate, Michael Mikan (Edina, MN), is also entering tonight with hot hands as he is currently on a six-game point streak where he has produced a total of seven assists. As for goal scoring, Brady Engelkes (Middleton, WI) is currently on a two-game goal streak as he has found the back of the net twice to start 2026.

The Oilers are expected to give Justin Giguère (Saguenay, QC) his first-ever start in the BCHL as he joined the Green and Gold at the start of the New Year. Giguère started the season with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the QMJHL, appearing in seven games for the Drakkar before making his way west to Okotoks. Giguère is a 2007-born goaltender who stands at 6’3 and has championship experience, as he won the QCHL Championship last season with the Sainte-Foy Dynamiques.

Tonight’s tilt is set for 7:00 MST in Sherwood Park.
