OKOTOKS, AB (November 1, 2024) — The Okotoks Oilers announced Friday that the club has acquired the BCHL playing rights to forward Brock Souch (Edmonton, AB) from the Brooks Bandits in exchange for Future Considerations.
“Brock is a highly talented forward with a knack for scoring goals and creating offence,” Oilers head coach and general manager Tyler Deis said Wednesday. “We expect that he will thrive in an increased role with us here in Okotoks this season.”
Souch, 17, collected one goal and two points in eight games with Brooks to kick off the 2024-25 regular season. The 5’9″, 170-pound forward amassed 23 goals and 62 points in 58 games split between the Bandits and Sherwood Park Crusaders last season, including 13 points in 17 BCHL games with the two clubs. He added one assist in seven playoff contests with Brooks.
A product of the Northern Alberta Extreme system, Souch made his debut with Sherwood Park in the 2022-23 season, finishing sixth in team scoring as a rookie with 35 points in 58 games. Through 124 career games over parts of three junior seasons with the Crusaders and Bandits, Souch has collected 36 goals and 99 points.
